From the Spotted Dog, meeting at 6pm, to the Black Eagle in Hockley.

Great beer and food avaialable at Black Eagle.

Easy ride, mostly along canals.

Lights recommended, although we will aim to be back before its dark.

Hi, I've heard lots of reports about mice in our block and checked it out with Environmental Health who said they could only deal with rats. A tenant has seen rats and asked for help from Stevens Scanlans- who apparently offered none. I have contacted EH again. Does anyone else have any sightings/experiences?

The managing agents passed it on to a company who insist we are all in together one day and all contact them to arrange this.
Over a hundred flats- not likely to happen without some considerable effort!
And especially as the fault was not fixed the last time we were all ordered to stay in for a whole day.
This caused most of us so many problems no wonder there is a lot of resentment and reluctance.
But I don't think its acceptable to have many more months unable to receive parcels and deliveries, or people visit us without phoning.

As a neighbour said yesterday, he just wished management apologised/acknowledged the seemingly poor maintenance standards.
We get letters often enough blaming residents for problems.
Although it is a shame that people seem to leave flat fittings in the rubbish area, rather than taking them to the tip or getting the city council to collect them, when they move out (latest letter from property managers)
However, as we have blogged frequently about in the past, the history of seemingly continual problems in the block does not create a responsible, motivated community.

They had to phone me to get in as the intercom does not work. This involved walking down and up 6 storeys as the lift was not working- as usual. We tried to get a carry-out but obviously could not get it delivered as they would not phone and/or wait while we came down 6 storeys. Minor problems compared to the big ones, but sadly indicative of how difficult it is to live in these flats. Not exactly high quality living!
